McBride recently earned her PhD in counseling psychology from the University of British Columbia. As a therapist, she specializes in trauma, eating disorders, body image, and relationship therapy. She is a co-host of the popular podcast “The Liturgists,” and author of the book Mothers, Daughters, and Body Image: Learning to Love Ourselves as We Are, in which she challenges the notion that it is normal and expected for women to hate their bodies. She has been widely recognized for her research on women’s sexual and postpartum health, healthy body image, and eating disorder prevention.
